Dominick Brascia used to be the afternoon talk show host on Birmingham's 960 WERC. His thick New York accent reminded me of my friend Sal, who used to live in Little Italy. Dominick was conservative, but his sense of humor outweighed his politics. Even people who disagreed with him couldn't help liking the guy.
I loved listening when he talked about his days in Hollywood. He had bit parts on shows like, "Night Court," "Knight Rider," and "Friday the 13th: A New Beginning." The first time I heard his show, he had Johnny V, Scott Baio's wingman, and I laughed until I cried.
Why do I feel like I'm writing an obit? Because WERC took Brascia off the airwaves and put Glenn Beck in his place. As if Beck doesn't have enough coverage.
No one knows why Brascia's gone, but I hope he finds his way back to the local airwaves.

Dominick was a great asset to the Birmingham airwaves..... I really hope he manages to find another place on Birmingham radio...

Hey Laura, Dominick & I are working hard to get back on-the-air here in Birmingham real soon. Glad you liked the show, and hopefully, in about a month or so, we'll be back on the radio. If you're on Facebook, look us up.

I miss Dominick very much. The only thing I listen to on 960 anymore is Rush Limbaugh. I would love to know that Dominick is on the air somewhere again and I could listen to him via computer. I loved that guy!
I didn't buy 960's explanation of what happened to him. It sounded phony to me, and I've totally lost respect for their broadcast intregrity since they let him go.
